Men’s Fashion Trends of Fall 2016

September 21, 2016

When it comes to men’s fashion, there are currently two types of men: the traditionalist and the trendsetter.

The traditionalist knows that no matter what happens, there are men’s style rules that will always stand the test of time. The trendsetter keeps his finger on the pulse and is fearless when it comes to experimentation. There’s no right or wrong way to dress. But when looking at this year’s biggest fall trends, it’s clear that the trendsetter is leading the conversation.

Loosen Up

For close to a decade, style mavens have been pushing men to the extreme boundaries of just how tight their pants can get. From skinny suits, to denim, to shorts, every label has offered some variation of the skinny pant. And by all means, skinny is still in.

But if you look to the trendsetters, they are gleefully embracing a more relaxed silhouette this fall. A quick flip through street style thumbnails of this season reveals relaxed fit jeans and wide-legged trousers. It seems this season is less about showing off and more about getting comfortable-but in a stylish way.

Copper Up

Fall has always served as a time to embrace jewel tones-the richer hues that are inspired by actual jewels like sapphire, emerald, and ruby. But this year, one color is stealing the show and that’s copper.

Think of a mustard yellow or a burnt orange. There are several copper offerings on shelves this season that fall on both sides of the spectrum. Invest in a key piece that can help add some color to a darker look. Warm colors like copper look great when paired against darker skin tones.
